- Steinernema riobrave targets turf and citrus pests, as well as cutworms, weevils, Japanese beetle grubs and more. It has been highly effective in suppressing citrus root weevil. This beneficial nematode was originally discovered in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, is adapted to warm soils and is more tolerant of tilled soils than other nematode species. It can still effectively kill pests in soil temperatures above 95°F and also infect as low as 59°F. Persistence is excellent, even under semi-arid conditions.
-
Roughly 1 million nematodes per 1000 square feet of soil medium.
For each square foot you will need 0.66 gallons of water as a carrier to saturate a potting medium or soil 2” deep.
Nematodes from Sierra Biological are packed on a sponge of pure cellulose wood fiber that is hydrated with water for shipping. The sponges do not go into the crop, only the nematodes, once they have been mixed with water.

Unless using your nematodes immediately, store in a refrigerator at 40°F. Do not freeze. See Tech Sheet below for detailed instructions.
