Downy Mildew Control

Downy mildew is caused by a fungus-like organism that is host specific. These include species of  Peronospora, Pseudoperonospora, Bremia, Plasmopara, and Basidiophora. This disease can occur year-round and proliferates with high humidity and poor air circulation.

Symptoms vary depending on host plant, but can include small, yellow spots on the upper side of the leaves, with white to gray fuzzy-looking spores and mycelium on the lower leaf surfaces. Infected leaves and branches can become distorted and die while spore colonies can grow systemically throughout the plant.

Control options include Cease, Double Nickel, MilStop, Regalia, Actinovate, Long Shadow, and Guarda.

Always review product labels prior to purchase to confirm your purchase is labeled for the specific pest, disease and/or crop you are treating. Accurate identification of pest and/or disease is essential to successful treatment, as are proper cultural and sanitation practices. Local extension offices can help identify pests and diseases. Additionally, feel free to send us images and we will do our best to assist you.
